Good sketching day

Tonight the sketching was good. Maybe it's the relaxation of chatting about any and everything with friends, or the busy atmosphere of a crowded cafe, better yet, it could be a magical pen the waiter dropped off with our bill. But man I haven't hit such a rhythm with my drawing in a long while as I did tonight. It just flowed onto the paper no nonsense, no figuring it out, no oh shit I better make sure it looks right. The drawings weren't perfect but it felt right drawing them. After I was done with one it was...well ok now let's try something harder, and harder until I fuck up real bad. I sorta stole the pen. It's not really stealing if I left a far nicer drawing pencil in exchange right?

My sketchbooks have arrived! I was worried it wasn't gonna arrive on time so I hadn't been posting it's progress. I call it Chop Suey as it is a collection of all the random sketches I have done over the years.

Found no ghost

Went to New Orleans this weekend for some ghost hunting with my friend jen and found surprisingly more fascination with the living than the dead. The people there were so real. They join in your conversation as you walk by, take the time to stop in the middle of the road while driving to help a couple of lost tourist, chat with you even if it is for a brief moment inbetween places, and can say no to you in a way that does not offend ( thanks Court of Two Sisters...I will eat you next time...the brunch I mean). The ghost stories were a wonderful insight into New Orlean's layered past.
